01The 10 business day wait
For a candidate under the New York City rule set, the AI interview and autopilot decisions wait until a notice has been up for 10 business days. Business days skip weekends and US federal holidays and are counted on New York time.
The earliest notice starts the clock: your public AI in hiring page, the job posting or the notice the candidate saw on the apply form. If your AI in hiring page has been public for 10 business days and a bias audit from the past year is published on it, nothing waits. Without a published audit from the past year, the AI interview and autopilot decisions wait for one too.
02What the notice says
- That an automated tool helps assess the application.
- The job qualifications and characteristics it assesses.
- The type and source of the data and how long it is kept, on request.
- How to ask for an alternative process or an accommodation.
- A link to your published bias audit summary.
03Bias audit data
Settings gives you a yearly export of selection rates and impact ratios by sex, by race or ethnicity and by both, as a CSV file and a printable page. It counts candidates who did not answer as unknown and notes categories too small to rely on.
It is data for your independent auditor, not the audit itself. Once the audit is done you can publish its summary and date on your AI in hiring page, at /c/your-workspace/ai-in-hiring on your careers site.
The rates come from the optional self-identification questions on your apply form. Answers are stored apart, never shown to reviewers and never used in scoring.
