01How SeekIQ chooses
SeekIQ reads three places: the job's location from its facts (country, state or region and city), the candidate's location (the country of their phone number and the city they gave) and your workspace's country. A rule set applies when a place it covers matches. The job setup shows which rule sets apply to the job and what the product will do, in plain words.
This is product behaviour, not legal advice. Confirm with your own counsel how these laws apply to your hiring.
02The six rule sets
- European Union and EEA: the job, the candidate or your workspace is in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.
- United Kingdom: the job, the candidate or your workspace is in the UK.
- New York City: the job is in New York City, or it is remote and the candidate lives there.
- Illinois: the job is in Illinois or the candidate lives there.
- Colorado: the job is in Colorado or the candidate lives there.
- Maryland: the job is in Maryland or the candidate lives there.
03What changes
- Candidates see a notice before the AI interview with what is assessed and how, the data used and its source and how to ask for a person. When the job's location brings in a rule set, the apply form shows it too.
- The notice is in English and Bangla. Candidates who interview in another language read it in English.
- The consent record keeps the rule sets that applied and the notice version.
- In the EU, the UK and New York City automatic rejection stays off until an owner confirms it in two steps.
- Each place adds its own steps. Read the New York City notice period, face check consent in Illinois and Maryland and the alternative process and appeals.
