For candidates

What the interview is like

A short spoken interview on your phone or computer, in English or Bangla. A practice question comes first. A person decides, or rules the team set, and you can ask a person to review any automated decision.

01Before you start

The link in your invite opens Your interview, explained. It tells you how long it takes, how many questions there are, what is assessed and what never is: your accent, appearance, emotions or room. You choose English or Bangla, and you can switch or mix them in the middle of an answer.

Prefer to talk to a person? Choose Prefer a human call. It is the same chance, with no penalty.

02Device check and practice

Only the microphone is required on most jobs. With your permission, the camera takes a selfie and then an occasional small photo while you answer, to confirm it is still you. If you skip the selfie but leave the camera on, photos are compared only with the first clear one, to check the same person stays throughout; nothing is said about who you are. A few still frames of a video answer are checked the same way, and a typed answer is compared with other candidates' answers to the same question for near copies. The photos are never scored, and a check only asks a person to look; it never rejects you. If you have no camera, or turn it off, that is fine. Some jobs ask for more: on a job set to Strict, the selfie and a short head-turn check are needed before you start, a photo is taken about every 20 seconds and tests run in full screen. Other jobs use no camera at all. The notice before you start says which applies.

A practice question comes next. It is not saved and not shared with the employer, and you can skip it.

03Answering

Each question plays aloud and shows on screen. You answer by speaking. While you answer you can:

  • Ask for extra time.
  • Type your answer instead of speaking.
  • Fix my words: correct the transcript if it heard you wrong. Reviewers keep your original audio beside it until it is deleted, 30 days after it was made by default.

04If your signal drops

Open the same link again and you continue from the question you were on. One restart is automatic; after that, the hiring team can allow another.

05At the end

You can ask questions about the role. Answers come only from what the employer wrote down; anything else goes to the hiring team. Then you see your next step and can rate how the interview felt. The same link shows your status any time, with no login.

06What you need

A recent version of Chrome, Safari or Firefox on a phone or computer, and a quiet place if you can find one. If your browser cannot record audio, you can type your answers.
